Listening to the Grads

To all USAFA Graduates:

As we engage with Grads during this election, one thing comes out loud and clear to us: there is a great need to improve the communication between Graduates and the AOG organization.

We, the ISE Group of Candidates, Mike Christy ('63), Fred Gregory ('64), Bill Stealey ('70) , Mike Ott ('85), Frank Schmuck ('88), Jereme Estes ('02) , firmly embrace the following tenet: It is the responsibility of the AOG, its Board of Directors, and its staff to facilitate inbound communications and consensus building so we can bring all Grads together in a powerful and united Graduate organization.

We are firmly dedicated to reaching out to our AOG membership, to increasing member interest and involvement in our AOG and our Air Force Academy, and to growing this organization into a much stronger and united Association of Graduates.

Toward that end, if elected, we will urge our fellow Board members to fund and implement an outreach program in which Board members and AOG staff members will regularly travel throughout the country to help organize, to meaningfully engage with, and provide resources to strengthen the association of our fellow graduates. We foresee visits to Chapters, Societies, Parent Groups and Affinity Groups to listen to and communicate with our members and supporters of USAFA.

We believe, to serve its Graduates completely, the AOG must understand what our Graduates expect from this organization and its leadership. You might not always have the time to tell us what you think, what you need, or what you want us to accomplish as your elected representatives. Therefore, the onus is on us to find out.

We will propose this "Listen to the Grads" program as a first order of business for our Board of Directors.

As fellow graduates of the Air Force Academy and Members of the Association of Graduates (AOG) we are six candidates who subscribe to the tenets of Integrity Service and Excellence (ISE).

Mike CHRISTY (‘63),
Fred GREGORY (‘64),
Bill STEALEY (‘70),
Mike OTT (‘85),
Frank SCHMUCK (‘88), and
Jereme ESTES (‘02)

We ask for your vote in the March/April 2007 Board of Directors Election.
